Escape from Raptor Island
is the title of the
2017-2018
Interschool Academic Survival
Challenge (IASC) of KPluz.
This is the first-ever IASC launched
by us.
IASC was conceived by KPluz to
improve student engagement in our
online academic excellence program.
A time-space distortion spike
mysteriously sent all KPluzzers to
the XiGEGA universe. Here, they
found themselves
aboard
the spacecraft Intrepid V, not as
students,
but as part of an elite
group of scientists, engineers, and
military experts going to sector X2G of
Planet Tyranim
to conduct some research.
They were busy preparing for their
landing on Tyranim when an
extremely powerful electromagnetic
pulse disrupted the navigation and
flight control system of the ship.
It didn't take long for them to
realize that their ship was hurtling
down towards what seemed a densely
forested island. The crash landing
was nerve-wracking but everybody
survived and was safe inside the
ship. Or so they thought.
Little did they know that on
Raptor Island,
noone was ever truly safe.
THE MISSION
The KPluzzers of each school must cooperate with
each other so that everybody will
escape from this mysterious and
extremely dangerous island.
Their mission, therefore, is
nothing less than
100% survival.
THE SURVIVAL TASKS
Each school will be divided into
five groups, each of which will be
assigned a survival task. A school
must complete all tasks for any of
its students to survive and escape
Raptor Island.
Group # 1: GATHER FOOD
The task of this group is to gather
enough food for everybody.
To accomplish this, every member of
this task group must achieve a total
of no less than two (2) blue bars.
If any member of this task group
achieves less than 2 blue bars by
the deadline, there won't be enough food
and nobody will survive.
Group # 2:
BUILD SHELTERS
The task of this group is to build
enough temporary shelters that will
allow everybody to escape.
To accomplish this, every member of
this task group must achieve a total
of no less than two (2) blue bars.
If any member of this task group
achieves less than 2 blue bars by
the deadline, there won't be enough
shelters during the escape and
nobody will survive.
Group # 3: FIND
VEHICLES
Recon drones sent to inspect the
island confirmed the presence of
functioning vehicles in various
places. The task of this group is to
find all of these vehicles and make
them useable for transport.
To accomplish this, every member of
this task group must achieve a total
of no less than two (2) blue bars.
If any member of this task group
achieves less than 2 blue bars by
the deadline, there won't be enough
vehicles for the escape and nobody
will survive.
Group # 4: COLLECT SURVIVAL
ACCESSORIES
The recon drones also confirmed the
presence of various survival
accessories on the island. The task
of this group is to collect all of
these survival accessories for
everybody's use.
To accomplish this, every member of
this task group must achieve a total
of no less than two (2) blue bars.
If any member of this task group
achieves less than 2 blue bars by
the deadline, there won't be enough
survival accessories to protect
everybody from harm during the
escape and nobody will survive.
Group # 5: DEVISE AN ESCAPE
PLAN
The task of this group is to utilize
all the resources accumulated by the
first four task groups for a
fool-proof escape plan.
To accomplish this, every member of
this task group must achieve a total
of no less than two (2) blue bars.
If any member of this task group
achieves less than 2 blue bars by
the deadline, there won't be a viable
escape plan and nobody will survive.
HOW TO ESCAPE FROM RAPTOR ISLAND
A KPluzzer
simply needs to accumulate a total of
25 blue bars or more in order to
survive and escape from Raptor
Island, provided that all the five
(5) tasks above are completed by his
or her school. Users who are using MathPluz
only are required to have at least
15 blue bars in order to survive.
HOW TO WIN
This is a contest among schools. The
school that has the highest survival
rate by
the deadline
will be declared as the winner of
this contest. The survival rate of
each school will simply be computed
as the number of survivors divided
by the total number of students.
Remember, if a school has at least
one student with less than 2 blue
bars, it automatically gets a
survival rate of 0%.
